Visit The Canadian Brass or The Empire Brass, two of the all time best and most popular brass quintets. Rhythm & Brass is another excellent ensemble that includes a brass quintet and percussionist. Former Thread City Brass tuba player Craig Knox is a member of the Center City Brass Quintet. Finally, visit Classic Brass, a British-style brass band in which all five members of the Thread City Brass also play.
If you're interested in trumpet playing, check out The International Trumpet Guild. Another very comprehensive trumpet web site is Trumpet Player Online. For those trumpet players capable of enjoying a laugh at their own expense, try Trumpet Geeks International. Horn players may wish to check out The International Horn Society or Hornplayer.Net. Trombonists are invited to try The Online Trombone Journal, or The International Trombone Association. Finally, tuba enthusiasts may find something to their liking at International Tuba Euphonium Association or at Tuba News. For a very broad list of sites related to brass playing in general, check out Brass Resources. A good site for Brass Band information is The Brass Heaven.
Looking to buy a brass instrument? Try The Woodwind and The Brasswind or Giardinelli. If you're in the New England area, an excellent source of brass instruments, particularly French horns, is Osmun Music, located in Arlington Mass. Rayburn Music in Boston and Dillon Music in Woodbridge NJ are two other leading brass instrument stores. If it’s brass music you’re looking for, one of the most comprehensive sources, if not THE most comprehensive source, is Robert King Music Sales. Long available through a printed catalog, their inventory is now searchable on-line.
If you're into midi, check out The Classical Midi Archives for a huge collection of classical scores.
