ROBERT LEMONS, Trumpet - has been on the music faculty at Eastern Connecticut State University since 1971. His degrees in music include a B.M. from Boston University where he studied trumpet with Roger Voisin, an M.A. from Western State University in Colorado, and a D.Mus. A. From the University of Colorado. Dr. Lemons appears regularly as an ensemble musician throughout the state, in addition to his involvement with the Thread City Brass Quintet. He has also appeared as a trumpet soloist and clinician in Colorado, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.  Bob is a founding member of the Thread City Brass.

SAMUEL EURICH, Trumpet - holds a B.S. in Music Education from the University of Connecticut where he studied with William Wich and Daniel Patrylak. In addition to the Thread City Brass Quintet, he is a member of the Willimantic Orchestra, Classic Brass (British-style brass band), and is active as a free-lance player. Mr. Eurich also keeps the quintet supplied with creative musical arrangements. When not playing music, he works in Information Technology.

VIRGINIA EURICH, Horn - studied music at Drake University in Iowa and has a B.S. in Music Education from the University of Connecticut. She is a member of the Willimantic Orchestra and performs regularly with several other organizations. Ms. Eurich teaches instrumental music in parochial schools and is a private horn instructor. She resides, with husband Sam and two cats, in eastern Connecticut.

GARY KIRSCH, Trombone - is active throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts as a performer in many groups, among them The Worcester Symphony, CT Virtuosi Orchestra and Classic Brass, a British style brass band. As a conductor, Mr. Kirsch has led the East Woodstock Cornet Band, the Gilbert and Sullivan Summer Workshops at CSA and was the Band Director at Southern Connecticut State University.  Mr. Kirsch has taught public school in Plainfield and Hamden, CT.  As a private teacher, Mr. Kirsch’s students have gone on to UConn, Eastman, Oberlin and Princeton. His students consistently place well in festivals and auditions. Mr. Kirsch graduated in 1995 from the University of CT with a B.A. in Music and a B.S. in Music Education.  Gary Kirsch is currently Registrar at the Community School of the Arts at the University of Connecticut where he also teaches low brass.

DAVID YUTZEY, Tuba - regularly plays with the Thread City Brass Quintet as one of his low-brass assignments that include Eastern Concert Band, which becomes the Windham Concert Band in the summer months, Classic Brass (www.classic-brass.org), a British-style brass band, and the Willimantic Orchestra. Hobbies-in-retirement also include brass instrument collecting and brass band history.  Dave is a founding member of the Thread City Brass.

The Thread City Brass Quintet has enjoyed the company of many fine musicians who were part of the quintet at one time or another over the years, among them: Founding member Gus Mazzocca, Joanne Edwards, Bill Cournoyer, Craig Knox, Don Siler, and Joanna Hersey.
